1) ======= Flight Lines =======
[Observations on business and life]

Instead of saying that man is the creature of circumstance,
it would be nearer the mark to say that man is the architect
of circumstance. It is character which builds an existence
out of circumstance. From the same materials one man builds
palaces, another hovels; one warehouses, another villas;
bricks and mortar are mortar and bricks until the architect
can make them something else.
--Thomas Carlyle

There is no such thing as a "self-made" man. We are made up
of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind
deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us,
has entered into the make-up of our character and of our
thoughts, as well as our success.
--George Matthew Adams

Remember that the legacy you leave behind, is to a great
extent a measure of the relationships that you build.

2) ======= Wing Tips =======
[A variety of business helps and tips]

Disable Windows XP Error Reporting

If you are sure that you will not want to send in any more
error report messages, here is how to disable the feature
by using the System Configuration Utility:

Click Start, and then Run.
Type "msconfig" to launch the System Configuration Utility.
Click the Services tab.
Remove the check mark from the Error Reporting Service check
box, and click "OK".
Restart your system.
The error reporting service is now disabled upon startup.

Here's a great little writing tool that I use all of
the time. This makes it real easy to store often used
headlines, cliches, quotes and miscellaneous text items.
An easy to use, handy time saver. It's my Writer's Friend.

3 Hypnotic Salesletter Closings!
by Larry Dotson

1) You could end your ad copy by telling people
what will happen if they don't buy your product.
Use a problem which they won't be able to solve
without it. For example, you could say, "Imagine
staying in debt, filing for bankruptcy and losing your
credit. Another example, "See yourself 5 years
from now still without the love of your life.
How will you feel?"

2) You could end your ad copy with a question that
they will always say yes to. Then they will be used
to saying yes when you ask them to order. For
example, you could say, "You want to be able to
afford the best things life has to offer, don't you?"
Another example, "You want to meet the woman/
man of your dreams, don't you?"

3) You could end your ad copy with a short review
of your whole ad. Repeat all the major benefits and
features they will receive. For example, you could
say, "Like mentioned earlier, you'll get the e-book
"How To Increase Your Sales", you'll get the report
"5 Ways To Double Your Sales Instantly" and you'll
get a "FREE 30-Minute Consultation With Yours
Truly!"

4) ======= Alter Eagle =======
[Sites and services that we recommend]

"This Is True" Web Site

(From the site:
This is True is a weekly syndicated newspaper column by
Colorado humorist Randy Cassingham. True reports on
bizarre-but-true news items from legitimate newspapers
from around the world (never "tabloids"). Each story ends
with commentary by Randy -- a tagline which is humorous,
ironic or opinionated.

An online pioneer, True has been publishing online weekly
since June 1994.)

5) ======= Light Flight =======
[The Lighter Side Of Life - Jokes & Humor]

A man takes his dog to the vet and says "Doc, I think my dog
is dead".

The vet lays the dog on the table, steps out of the room and
returns with a cat. The cat walks all over the dog, but the
dog doesn't move.

"Yes sir, your dog is dead," says the doctor.

"How much do I owe you?" asks the man.

"$350" says the doctor.

"$350!!?" the man asks.

"Yes sir! The office visit is only $50, but it is $300 for
the cat scan."

Renew Your Domain Name!
by Jim Phillips

There is an old saying, "Experience is the best
teacher."

It's very true, isn't it?

I've read countless articles on renewing my
domain name.

They all say the same things:

*It is your responsibility as the domain owner to
get it done.

*An expired domain name is available for
registration by anyone else. Someone who will
benefit from your links and your search engine
ranking without paying for them.

*Your web site is no longer accessible to your
customers.

I knew what to do and I knew how to do it - but I
didn't do it.

I let my domain name expire.

My web site was down for two days while I waited
for the name to be reactivated.

My email didn't work.

I don't know how much I lost in sales.

So now I am going to challenge the old adage and
hope that you can learn from my experience.

Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't disrupt
your business because you let a date slide by.

Most domains are leased for one year, although
they can be pre-paid up to a maximum of 10 years.

If your web host doesn't have a notification
service and you don't know when your registration
expires, visit http://www.internic.net/whois.html
and look up your expiration date.

To renew your domain name registration, just
visit your web host's site and follow their
instructions.

It literally takes just a few minutes and believe
me - you'll be glad you did.

cried. Then my head was cut off. What am I?
