"The Unparalleled Power of Giving"
By Ralph Moore (c)2003
One of the greatest forces in the universe is the principle
of "giving and receiving". I believe that this is in fact a
law, and that it is "spiritual" in nature.
And just like the physical law of gravity, this law operates
with the same scientific precision and can even be evidenced
in the physical realm.
This law of giving and receiving can be seen throughout all
facets of life, from simple one-celled creatures to the most
complex organisms.
Take a simple plant, for example. Using a process known as
photosynthesis, green plants combine the power of sunlight,
water and carbon dioxide, to produce oxygen which is then
released into the air.
This process, which clearly demonstrates the law of giving
and receiving, is not only necessary for the plant's
survival, but for our own as well. Interesting, isn't it?
Another example can be found in our own bodies. Without
water, a person can only survive for a few days. Take away
food even for a few hours, and for most folks nourishment
quickly becomes a primary point of focus.
Olympic athletes throughout the world clearly understand,
that if they fail to give their bodies the proper training,
it is unlikely that they will ever receive the gold, silver
and bronze medals for which they so mightily strive.
In science classes throughout the world, students learn
about the chemical process that makes a simple car battery
work. And they also learn that without giving the battery
a new source of energy, it will quickly lose it's charge
when put to use. Giving and receiving.
How about in the business world? What affect does this law
of giving and receiving have on the things that we do each
day?
When dining out, who gets the bigger tip? The waitress who
goes the extra mile to make your experience a pleasure, or
the one who seems troubled to have to carry out her duties?
How do you think your customers feel? When someone walks
through your door, do you look forward to helping them, or
or are they interrupting whatever you were doing?
Chances are, if your customer feels unwelcome, she may
quickly take her business elsewhere.
And what about the people that you depend upon to supply
you with the products and services that are essential to
your business? Without them, what would you have to offer
your customers?
If your product and service suppliers get the feeling that
it is a chore for you to spend your time with them, just
what level of service do you think you can rely upon from
these critical business partners? Are they really going to
want to "go the extra mile" for you when you are in need
of some special attention?
At times, it is easy to forget that if it weren't for our
customers and suppliers, we wouldn't even have a business.
When we get wrapped up in whatever we are doing at the
moment, it can be easy to think of them as an intrusion,
rather than a blessing.
Think about this. Would you rather work with someone who
always seems to be holding back, or someone who is bending
over backwards to help you?
Giving less than your best, is a choice that will produce
negative results, and can eventually spell disaster for
your business.
The extent to which you apply the power of giving in your
business, will have a direct effect on what you receive,
and will dramatically determine the success or failure of
your business.
As you apply the unparalleled power of giving in your
daily life and business, you will manifest the rewards
that come as a result of applying this powerful law.

[Real-life accounts of hardware, software and more]
AutoResponse Plus - new autoresponder
I am currently testing and implementing a new autoresponder
for delivering the newsletter. This appears to be much more
full-featured and easier to configure than any I have used
before.
The two main reasons for this move are 1) no monthly fees
and 2) the capability to run unlimited autoresponders for
any purpose.
In the past, I have used Mailloop and Postmaster, and have
found both to have their benefits and shortcomings.
In a future issue, I will compare my experiences with all
of these types of software.
Please bear with me as I try to get it right the first time.
If you receive a message or two, out of sequence, or a
"confirmation" or "Thank you for subscribing" message,
please just delete the messages.
7) ======= Eye of the Eagle =======
[Ideas to inspire better communication]
In a town in Indiana, 10% of all the people living there
have unlisted phone numbers. If you randomly selected 50
names from the phone directory, how many people would have
unlisted phone numbers?

Answer to Last Issue's Puzzler...
